It becomes of utmost importance to question our actions
with so much sincerity. Our so called actions, can be argued to be the outcome
of our decision. The question is, "was it truly our decision? If it was, was
the decision making process spearheaded by our intellect and scrutiny?
It’s not a lie; often times we make decision based on what others would cherish
disrespecting our own humble judgments.
It’s not a lie too that so many times we’ve
chosen what we believed people would love to see us do, robbing ourselves the
right to choose what we would have loved to do. Is it a lie that we are
even planning to settle down for a particular thing, not because we would have
chosen it over and over again if asked to. Whereas, we may consider settling
for it just to raise eyebrows, earn some kudos from friends and strangers; That’s
so belittling!
I’m not against your decision to do what no one has
done before, I’m just bothered that you may be robbed of the inner joy and
complacency you ought to enjoy if that’s your motive. Motives of such are often
selfish. You want your marriage to look different, you could as well marry an
albino and not a blonde; It’s not always how flashy for indeed, all that
glitters is not gold.
Verily, success at times is beyond you, being
celebrated by people, it’s far beyond the cheerful countenance you wear when hailed
and praised; true happiness is when inside of you, you feel original and not fake. That’s
what you should crave!
Genuineness is when you make choices not for selfish
purposes, not to garner compliments or wave off disparaging remarks. Trust
me! You are the happiest person in the world when you don’t judge based on
prize-tags, color, race or whatever. You are the best when you choose with
confidence and give expecting nothing in return. You are superb when you settle
for what you love and not what others would have loved.
If you are often bought by some hoaxes or scams,
that could mean you are a servant to your choices and decisions. You are
neither a slave nor a servant. A BOSS is who you are!
